A man had a terrible cold which didn’t seem to go away even though he was on medication. The man decided to go to a hospital nearby and to see the doctor for a proper diagnosis of the problem. When he met the doctor, he explained how he was feeling and complained that the cold refused to go away. The doctor was shocked that the drugs he had been taking hadn’t relieved him in any way. However, he prescribed a few pills for the cold, but these didn’t help the man’s situation at all. He visited the hospital again with the same complaint and the doctor prescribed a shot this time for the flu. Again, the shot was ineffective as the other prescriptions.
The man returned to the hospital again with a complaint, and the exhausted doctor asked him to hurry home and take a hot bath and immediately after he finishes this bath, he shouldn’t use a towel or put on any clothes. He should just open his windows and remain standing in the bath tub.
The confused patient looked at the doctor after the weird prescription and asked. “Doctor, I know I’m not a doctor, but won’t I contract pneumonia if I remain naked after a hot shower and allow cold to penetrate my chest?” he said in protest.
The doctor stared at the man for a few seconds and replied, “Yes I know that it will give you pneumonia. I can treat pneumonia, but I can’t treat whatever is wrong with you right now.”
